Anna University TNEA 2019 Counselling Schedule & Seat Allotment

TNEA 2019 Rank List has been released by Anna University on June 2019 for candidates who had applied for admissions to engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. The rank list of TNEA 2019 is prepared after normalization of class XII marks.

Admissions to B.Tech/BE programmes across the engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu will be done on the basis of TNEA 2019 Rank List. The university will calculate TNEA 2019 Ranks of candidates on the basis of factors like reservation criteria, community categories and inter-se merit guidelines.

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is the process through which more than 1.5 lakh engineering aspirants get themselves enrolled into engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu through single window counselling.

About TNEA 2019: Anna University conducts TNEA every year which is not an engineering entrance exam but it is the procedure or guidelines on the basis of which admission to various graduate level engineering courses at different engineering colleges is done.

TNEA 2019 Selection Procedure:

  • For admissions to engineering courses, following factors will be considered:
    Community-wise Categorization
  • Percentage of marks scored by a candidate in Mathematics and Physics in 12th Class
  • Percentage of marks scored by a candidate in the 4th optional subject
  • Date of Birth

Anna University TNEA Counselling 2019:

Counselling would be held for special categories from Friday and for general category from Monday. Academic general counselling would end on July 21 and vocational counselling would be held on July 23 and 24.

TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2019

Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by Anna University to be considered for admission to any of the participating institutes of TNEA 2019. The list of criteria are mentioned below:

Nativity:

  • Candidates from Tamil Nadu (TN) who have passed VIII-XII in the state can apply and needn’t enclose certificate of nativity.
  • Candidates native to TN but who have passed VIII-XII in some other state must enclose nativity certificate.
  • Children of Central Govenmnt Employees can also apply provided their parents have been working in TN for past five years.
  • Candidates who have studied VIII-XII in the state of TN are eligible and don’t need to enclose Nativity Certificate.

Qualifying Exam

Candidates need to have passed HSC or any equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The category-wise minimum aggregate % of marks required in the three subjects is given below:

Age Limit: Candidate who are applying to Marine Engineering mustn’t be older than 25 years on the last day of submission of online application deadline.

TNEA 2019 Eligibility Criteria for other state candidates:

Under the other-state quota, candidates who are Indian citizens but not a native of Tamil Nadu can apply.

Qualifying Exam and Marks: Candidates need to score a minimum of 50% aggerate marks in PCM taken together (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in HSc or equivalent exam.

INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

Photocopies of the following documents should be enclosed along with the application:

1. 10th Mark Sheet

2. HSC / Equivalent Mark Sheet*

3. Transfer Certificate*

4. Permanent Community Certificate Card for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM (Permanent card / electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate)

5. HSC Hall Ticket

6. Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate – If applicable

7. First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration (only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate) – If applicable

8. Srilankan Tamil Refugee certificate – If applicable

9. Relevant certificates for Son / Daughter of Ex-Serviceman, Son / Daughter of Freedom Fighter, Differently Abled Person and Eminent Sports Persons – If applicable

* Candidates appeared for HSC / Equivalent examination in March 2018 must produce Original Mark sheet and TC at the time of counselling. However, downloaded copy of the mark sheet should be enclosed, others to enclose a copy of Mark sheet and TC.

Counselling Schedule

Candidates have to pay an initial deposit of 5000/- (Rs 1000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) by Cash or DD and produce all their original certificates when they attend counselling.

Allocation of Seats

Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST reservation following the rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu as follows.

  • Open Competition – 31%
  • Backward Class – 26.50%
  • Backward Class Muslim – 3.50%
  • Most Backward Class & Denotified Communities – 20%
  • Scheduled Caste – 15%
  • Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars) – 3%
  • Scheduled Tribes – 1%

Tamil Nadu native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservation. The community recorded in the certificate of Tamilnadu native candidate should appear in the list of communities approved by the Government of Tamilnadu.

COUNSELLING OF CANDIDATES

  • Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment of the branch/college chosen by the candidate will be made. Candidates have to opt for colleges and branches that are available at the time of counselling.
  • Candidates have to pay an initial deposit of ` 5000/- (` 1000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) by Cash or DD and produce all their original certificates when they attend counselling.
  • If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the Institution should be produced to that effect. In such case only, attested photocopies of certificates from the Head of the Institution will be accepted for verification. However, the provisional allotment order will be withheld and it will be released only on production of all the original certificates.
  • Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their cut-off mark, two hours before the counselling session along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication.

TNEA Counselling 2019 Schedule College Rank List Wise : Anna University is a technical university in Tamil Nadu, India. The main university campus is located in Guindy, Chennai. It became an affiliating university in 2001, absorbing all engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. In 2007, it was split into six constituent universities namely Chennai (campus), Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli and Tirunelveli.

A Common Entrance Test namely Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPC EE) was used as a basis for admission to professional courses in the state until 2006. Starting in the academic year 2007-08, students were admitted to engineering colleges on the basis of their higher secondary marks.
